Educational Opportunity Center

Project Details

(Design Study)

phZ Architects was hired by SUNY Morrisville to perform an existing building condition assessment and a conceptual design study for the renovation of the Educational Opportunity Center in Syracuse, NY. The existing 3-story building is approximately 54,000 square feet and was built in the 1970’s. The proposed design includes new exterior metal panel cladding and a new glass entry to make the front door more visible from the street. The proposed design creates an open central space on each floor where students, faculty, and community members can gather. Interactive specialty labs are located on the ground floor, classrooms are on the second (main) floor, and faculty offices are on the third floor with a large multi-purpose community room.
